Product information "Universalkleber - Typ 140 750 ml"

UNI Adhesive 140 is a self-crosslinking aqueous synthetic resin dispersion mixed with natural resins (free from solvents). The special adhesive is suitable for the permanent bonding of artificial leather, foams, wall and ceiling coverings, as well as soundproofing and insulating materials. It adheres to substrates such as wood, GRP and protected steel or sheet metal.

  • Color: light beige - white / transparent to brownish after drying
  • Consistency: medium viscosity / brushable, rollable and trowelable (2 mm notch)
  • Hazard class: none / non-toxic
  • Property: temperature resistant from 30°C to + 120°C
  • Consumption: 120-150 g/m² on one side / 200-260 g/m² on both sides
  • Coverage: 750 ml approx. 4 - 5 m² / 5 ltr. approx. 30 m²
  • Storage: approx. 12 months at + 5°C to + 30°C
  • Do not expose to direct sunlight, protect from frost!

Application:

The parts to be bonded must be dry and free of dust, oil and grease. UNI Adhesive 140 is applied thinly using a brush or velour roller. The adhesive has no initial adhesion due to its water content and the flash-off time is approx. 15 minutes, depending on the substrate and the humidity prevailing at the time of application. This is shorter at high temperatures and longer at low temperatures. Sufficient ventilation during the drying time is essential to allow the water to escape from the adhesive.

The correct time is given when the coated surfaces change from whitish to transparent. The materials placed in the semi-moist adhesive bed can be corrected. The firmer the initial contact pressure, the better the adhesion. We recommend applying adhesive to both sides (contact bonding - allow the adhesive to dry completely) when working with sound insulation panels and insulating mats. Ensure that the contact pressure is applied from the center in all directions to the sides to avoid air pockets.

The tools can be cleaned with water immediately after completion of the work. The hardened adhesive can be softened with vinegar ester or methylated spirits. (Attention: observe fire protection).
